Clinical Nurse Educator - Outpatient - FT - Days - JDCH

Location: Hollywood, Florida

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff. Pediatric Experience Preferred Educator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s).
• Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
• Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
• Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
• May perform clinical patient care when needed.
• Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).
• Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s).
• Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelors: Nursing (Required)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
• BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
• Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate
• Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Requirements

• Three (3) years nursing experience. Candidates for Clinical Nurse Educator RN Fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience.
• Department Specific: JDC- Hematology/Oncology: APHON Provider and PALS required.
• Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
