Responsibilities
- Supports staff professional development with activities that include planned and real time educational offerings/support to advance clinical practice, certification, life support/emergency preparedness, TJC requirements, product rollouts, mentoring, etc.
- Responds to changes in nursing practice and develops programs to support those changes.
- Incorporates principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.
- Design, plan, prepare and present materials for use in educational programs for nursing staff inclusive of competency based learning modules.
- Accessible to clinicians, and puts education plans in place for staff, monitors completion of staff competencies and education programs.
- Provides educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career development.
- Supports integration of evidence based, best practices, and research into practice, contributes to nursing research and incorporates research findings into program planning.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in the development and implementation of patient care policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards of care.
- Leads the onboarding, orientation, and nurse residency programs. Responsible for the successful transition of the new hire into the practice environment.
- Maintains current knowledge of ANCC programming related to Magnet and PTAP.
- Leads monthly All-Day Council Meetings for unit-based councils/activities, Research Council, Practice Council, JOE Council, Quality Council and Coordinating Council.
- Collaborates with nurse leaders on membership, roadmaps and council projects and outcomes to advance the professional practice of nursing through these two programs.
- Responsible for working with Magnet/PTAP Director to meet intracycle monitoring, annual reports, reports, communication to ANCC national office and all written/submitted documents.
- Engages with nurses as well as staff, physicians, and leaders across the organization to ensure knowledge and awareness of Magnet and PTAP programs.
Qualifications
- MA Registered Nurse license is required.
- BLS Certification required, AHA/RC preferred.
- ACLS Professional Organization Certifications (ONC, CNOR, Etc.) is preferred.
- Education Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
- Minimum Experience 3-5 years of work experience is required.
- 1-3 years of supervisory/management experience is required.
Pay
$81,640.00 USD - $210,433.60 USD
