Responsibilities
- Teaches courses and provides training to nursing and non-nursing clinical staff.
- Ensures all instruction meets regulatory, organization, and department policies and standards.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and practice changes in areas of expertise.
- Promotes and facilitates critical thinking among nursing and non-nursing staff.
- Performs all needed education documentation and recordkeeping activities related to assigned training activities.
- Provides interim coverage for staffing vacancies or supplements when additional resources needed for training activities.
Requirements
- BSN Required
- ED And Med/Surg Tele Experience Required
- Enrolled in MSN or M Ed Program within 30 days of hire and completed within 24 months of hire - Required
- Post Masters Certificate In Nursing Education - Preferred
- 3 years As a direct patient care RN - Required
- 3 years Clinical nursing experience in area of assignment (e.g., ED, Critical Care, Med-Surg, OB, etc) - Preferred
- Experience instructing or training in a healthcare setting - Preferred
- Certification in ANCC approved nursing specialty or nursing professional development - if not on hire achieves within twelve (12) months of accepting the position. - Required
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - Certification, Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) - License, State And/Or Compact State Licensure Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Certification, Certification as an ACLS, PALS, NRP or other clinical instructor dependent on assignment. Preferred
