Clinical Nurse Educator 3 - Nursing Education - FT Days
About the role
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for designing and implementing education programs and professional development of nurses in their assigned nursing service. They oversee the orientation program of new hires and assess the ongoing learning needs, competencies, and skills of the nursing staff within the assigned nursing division. They work closely with educators and clinical nurse specialists on organizational education programs and professional development of nurses.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the orientation program of new hires
- Assess the ongoing learning needs, competencies, and skills of the nursing staff
- Work closely with educators and clinical nurse specialists on organizational education programs and professional development
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating expert professional nursing practice, strong customer service, and enhanced leadership ability
- Collaborate with managers, CNSs, and educators on various UCI Health committees
Requirements
- RN specialty certification uniquely applicable to the specific unit served
- Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission Requirements
- Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively
- Demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Demonstrated Emergency Department Experience in an Academic Medical Center or Level 1 Trauma Center
- Computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office Products, including Word & Outlook
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nursing Education
- Experience in adult education
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Skills
- Customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Expert professional nursing practice
- Strong leadership ability
