About the role

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). This fast-paced unit operates with a 2 RN and 1 PCT staffing model, offering a 4-5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. The unit provides comprehensive educational offerings, proficiency training for specialized equipment, and experienced charge nurses and unit leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Reflects core values when interacting with co-workers, patients, family members, and others in the community to foster an environment where employees are engaged and where patient care is unparalleled.
  • Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization.
  • Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company-supported community/patient events and in-services.
  • Assists with staff scheduling.
  • Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System.
  • Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals.
  • Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year working as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • 3 years of RN experience in a Telemetry unit highly preferred.
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • If Compact RN license, must have TX RN license within 90 days of hire.
