Clinical Nurse - After Hours Support

Role Overview

Provides pediatric nursing care via after-hours nurse triage and exchange services for community pediatricians, utilizing triage guidelines, critical thinking, and physician preferences to determine appropriate care plans.

Responsibilities

• Promoting patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management, home care, and medication administration.
• Participating in activities that ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, along with ongoing professional development.
• Developing and documenting individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring effective communication.
• Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.
• Working in a safety-sensitive role with a focus on alertness and safe practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 2-5 years of nursing experience in emergency, NICU, PICU, pediatric primary care, or related areas.
• RN licensure required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred with at least 2 years of experience.
• Strong computer and typing skills; prior pediatric experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Mostly remote with an expectation to work in the call center during connectivity issues; shifts vary between days and evenings, including weekends and holidays. Part-time, 8-hour shifts, with flexibility based on staffing needs.
