Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and oversight for MRI procedures requiring physics monitoring, including off-label and novel methods
- Establish and maintain institutional MRI policies and guidelines
- Customize MR hardware/software within regulatory and institutional guidelines
- Troubleshoot clinical MRI issues, coordinate with vendors, and maintain QA/QC of MRI equipment
- Assist with new MRI equipment purchases, perform acceptance testing, and support accreditation requirements
- Develop clinical and research MR imaging protocols
- Serve as an institutional subject matter expert in MRI physics
- Educate clinical and research staff, trainees, and external audiences on MRI principles
- Deliver lectures at national and international meetings
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Completion of a Diagnostic Imaging Physics Residency, or ≥2 years post-PhD experience in Clinical MRI Physics or equivalent research/industry experience
- Training or experience in QA/QC of MR equipment, including maintaining accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in MRI Physics by ABMP, ABR, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years post-PhD experience conducting MRI QA/QC
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with technologists, radiologists, residents, and researchers
- Experience in writing or assisting in writing grant proposals
- Experience with administrative and committee work to support the CHS faculty mission
