Job Responsibilities

Develop expertise in training, coaching and mentoring staff through the promotion and delivery of high-quality nursing care.

Orient, educate and develop nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.

Provide support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment.

Integrate knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members.

Participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians.

Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor.

Qualifications

Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
