Clinical Medical Assistant

Primary Functions

• Aid RNs in admitting patients in the pre-operative area
• Provide assistance with continuous patient flow
• Maintain par levels and supply the pre-operative areas for patient OR attire, extra linens, and other medical supplies
• Assist RN with recording vital signs, dressing patient, providing nourishment, and assisting with ambulation
• Assist with patient transport via wheelchair upon discharge from PACU
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA policies
• Willingly perform other duties as directed by the Assistant Clinical Director to accommodate department’s needs

Qualifications

• High school graduate
• Medical Assistant certification
• Minimum one (1) year Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Dependable and punctual
• Organized and able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Able to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Comprehension of medical terminology
• Excellent communication skills
• Competency in oral and written skills
• Flexibility in varying shifts (8hr shifts ranging from 6am start to 5:30pm close)
