About the role
This position provides direct support to the physician and clinical teams in a given location.
Responsibilities
- Casting, dressing application and removal
- Applying and removing wound dressings based on provider preferences
- Participating in staple and suture removal
- Fitting patients with durable medical equipment and braces appropriately and completing billing paperwork accurately
- Rooming patients and completing appropriate intake documentation
- Drawing up and setting up injections/ultrasound per provider's protocol
- Maintaining a clean and stocked exam room
- Entering orders for x-ray
- Aiding with appointment scheduling for follow up appointments
- Aiding with clinical workflow throughout the clinics
Requirements
- Certified as a Medical Assistant
- High school Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Experience in an Orthopaedic practice preferred
