About the role
The Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) reports to the Clinical Services Manager and works well with every member of the clinical team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients' health.
Responsibilities
- Be familiar with CFHC’s program philosophies, goals and objectives.
- Comply with CFHC’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Perform duties of a medical assistant.
- Understand the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan.
- Utilize universal precautions when practicing in a clinical setting.
- Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs.
- Report pertinent information to the CMO.
- Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the clinical team.
- Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the CMO or CEO.
- Perform various medical and administrative tasks such as:
- Screen patients according to CFHC’s protocols.
- Obtain patient’s medical history.
- Chart in patient’s medical record.
- Perform phlebotomy/finger stick.
- Administer injections.
- Prepare and administer medications.
- Perform procedures as ordered.
- Counsel patients.
- Maintain exam rooms and work areas.
- Follow up on appointments.
- Assist in the referral process.
- Complete duties appropriately for age groups.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited school.
- Must be Certified or Registered through one of the following accrediting bodies and maintain current certification throughout employment: AAMA - CMA, AMT - RMA, AMCA - CMAC, NCCT - NCMAN, NHA - CCMABLS Certification.
- Experience preferred.
- Computer literacy.
