About the role
The Medical Assistant will support providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily office operations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Room patients, verify patient information, and obtain vital signs
- Absorb and process lab/pathology specimens
- Administer injections and assist with patient treatments
- Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment
- Educate patients on treatment plans and wound care
- Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment sterilization
- Document patient care accurately in the EMR
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
- Support clinic workflow and complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Ability to obtain vital signs and administer injections
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and EMR systems
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Willingness to travel to satellite offices as needed
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or completion of a bachelor’s degree program in the pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred
- CPR certified preferred
- 1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or other clinical patient care experience preferred
- Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred
