About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Clinical Manager to guide our teams in the Universal Aftercare program – Care Connect across the Central Coast, Greater Newcastle, Upper Hunter and Manning regions. Care Connect is a non‑clinical support service focused on providing psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide. The service is designed to increase access and engagement with care to prevent further suicidal behaviour and/or self‑harm.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Guide and support the Care Connect program in the Central Coast, Greater Newcastle and Manning regions to improve the care and support received by people after a suicide attempt.
• Lead an established and dedicated team in providing best‑practice psychosocial supports.
• Guide exceptional clinical governance across the Care Connect program.
• Expand your network by collaborating with Local Health Districts (LHD) and a range of community‑based organisations.

What We’re Looking For

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, mental health nursing or social work with mental health accreditation) and relevant professional registration (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
• At least four years’ experience in a clinical mental health setting.
• At least two years’ experience leading a mental health / suicide after‑care program and workforce.
• Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable people and an understanding of recovery principles to guide a team providing high‑quality, customer‑centered supports.
• Outstanding relationship, negotiation and conflict‑management skills.
• High level of organisational, time‑management and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Experience establishing and building stakeholder relationships and an understanding of the community services landscape across the identified service regions.
