JOB PURPOSE
The Clinical Lead in the Sequim Services Department works in conjunction with the Sequim Services Supervisor to provide clinical leadership, oversight, and support for the adult and child and family services team in Sequim. The Clinical Lead fosters professional development, supports clinical competence, and provides additional support to clinical staff for clinical consultation, adhering to ethical standards, and ensuring compliance with agency policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a backup for Clinical Supervisor and provides guidance, mentoring, crisis management, and clinical supervision as needed.
- Provides assistance with caseload distribution, and quality outcomes for Sequim Services therapy staff.
- Provides back-up assistance in monitoring staff productivity and providing feedback on clinical skills and performance on an as needed basis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services for clients.
- Participates in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of therapy staff as needed.
- Provides an array of therapy services including individual and/or family and group psychotherapy if needed with emphasis on skill development to improve the functioning of client.
- Provides comprehensive bio-psycho-social clinical assessments to identify mental health diagnosis and medical necessity.
- Develops individualized treatment plans, documenting problems, needs, and measurable outcomes.
- Provides constructive feedback on clinical documentation and assists with reviewing and approving documents as needed for therapists and interns.
- Provides ongoing assessment of a client's cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and vocational strengths and needs.
- Provides support and guidance in completing intake assessments and feedback on quality and improvements.
- Completes various documentation related to client's treatment in the agency's Electronic Health Record within the established time frames.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains familiarity with and handles client information in accordance with Federal Regulations (42 CFR, Part 2), the Revised Code of Washington (RCW 71.05.390 and RCW 71.24), and other applicable laws pertaining to confidentiality of client and staff information.
- Maintains physical security of confidential materials and assigned Agency property.
- Promotes openness and safety in the workplace.
- Works with supervisors in other departments to facilitate cross-team communication service provision for clients.
- Participation in community outreach events may include resource fairs, meetings, and training to enhance community knowledge about availability to PBH services in the Sequim community.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSE(S), CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
- Licensure: Washington State independent clinical license (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working with individuals with persistent mental illness. Experience working with co-occurring treatment, individual and group therapy, or substance use treatment. If Working with Children: Previous experience working with children, adolescents and families providing behavioral health services.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL CREDENTIALS / EXPERIENCE
- Experience supervising interns, practicum students, or licensure associates.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in adult behavioral health.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
