Clinical Laboratory Technologist II - Pathology & Immunology
About the role
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist II supports the daily operations of the microarray testing platform within the Clinical Genomics Laboratory. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of test results through adherence to established protocols and quality standards. The technologist applies advanced technical skills to perform high-complexity testing, troubleshoot assay and instrumentation issues, and verify results for clinical reporting. They contribute to maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements in the CAP/CLIA environment and participate in quality assurance and quality control activities.
Responsibilities
- Performs high-complexity assays according to laboratory standard operating procedures, including instrument maintenance and assay troubleshooting; may perform special assays with supervision by the laboratory manager.
- Recognizes problem situations and participates in problem solving; informs laboratory manager of unusual situations and requests technical assistance.
- Aids in validation of new assays; compiles data for supervisory review; utilizes specific analysis, database, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- Complies with all regulatory and client requirements for testing and documentation.
- Maintains lab conditions and equipment in accordance with established procedures and regulatory policies.
- Collaborates with laboratory manager on other duties and special projects as needed.
- Performs initial statistical analysis and review of data; prepares initial result reports for supervisory review.
