Clinical Laboratory Technician (Per diem)

About the role

The Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for specimen preparation, collection, transfer, and storage according to protocol requirements. They ensure study data is collected to a high quality in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and monitor subject safety.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and understands study protocols and laboratory sample handling/processing requirements
• Maintains organization and cleanliness of work space
• Centrifuges blood samples according to protocol
• Documents specimen processing details
• Monitors laboratory equipment and supplies
• Assists in specimen shipping and document generation
• Verifies laboratory documents once study is concluded

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomist certificate preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory procedures
• Working knowledge of State of Florida OSHA guidelines
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
