Clinical Laboratory Technician - Pathology and Immunology

About the role

Position performs routine tissue processing for Electron Microscopy in a clinical laboratory setting.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs routine assays according to laboratory standard operating procedures, including instrument maintenance and minor troubleshooting; may perform special assays with supervision.
• Recognizes problem situations and participates in problem solving; informs supervisor of unusual situations and requests technical assistance.
• Aids in the validation of new assays; compiles data for supervisory review; utilizes database, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
• Complies with all regulatory and client requirements for testing and documentation. Complies with HIPPA regulations.
• Demonstrates a general understanding of assay methods and clinical relevance; participates in relevant continuing education.
• Assists supervisor with other duties and special projects as needed.

Working Conditions

Normal clinical laboratory environment. Ability to travel to various on- and off-campus locations. Physical effort typically sitting at a desk or at the work bench. Equipment: laboratory equipment.

Education

Required Qualifications: Associate degree

Preferred Qualifications: B.S. - Bachelor of Science - General Sciences, Bachelor's degree - Life Sciences
