Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Variable Shifts and Schedules

About the role

This opportunity is for the hospital expansion tower opening in the Riverside Service Area. It involves performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phase testing in various areas of clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

- Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s Policies and Procedures. - Provides high-level patient care and maintains confidentiality. - Reports test results for all clinical laboratory procedures without immediate review. - Monitors and is accountable for test data, quality control, and preventive maintenance. - Notifies supervisors of any irregularities affecting test results. - Troubleshoots equipment and test methods. - Resolves unusual laboratory situations and informs appropriate parties. - Consults with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, etc., on technical aspects. - Trains new employees and assists in developing proficiency among laboratory assistants. - Participates in work groups to address departmental issues and evaluates new test procedures. - Maintains safety protocols and monitors supply levels. - Assists in areas outside of primary responsibilities. - Operates computerized laboratory data systems. - Collects and instructs patients on specimen requirements.

Requirements

- High School Education or GED. - Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (California). - Additional requirements for RRL positions: - Experience in automated instrumentation, molecular-based procedures, QC protocols, and special coagulation methods. - Knowledge of flow cytometry analysis and leukemia/lymphoma phenotyping. - Additional requirements for Regional Flow Cytometry (Los Angeles): - Recent experience in flow cytometry analysis. - One year recent experience as a CLS.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field. - Limited license qualifications for RRL positions.
