Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Per Diem) (2 Positions)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provides accurate and timely pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical aspects of clinical laboratory testing.
• Performs qualitative and quantitative tests per procedure, meeting all regulatory requirements and following established procedures within the total laboratory quality program.
• Responsible for specimen acceptability, preventive maintenance, temperature control, reagent handling, calibration, quality control, documentation and communication of all tests performed.
• Accountability for compliance with laws, regulations, and policies to demonstrate ethical behavior

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Education (or substitute experience): Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or other science discipline which meets federal CLIA educational requirements California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license BLS certification within 3 months of hire
• Education Preferred: Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
• Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Completion of an accredited training program in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science
• Experience Preferred: 2 years of generalist clinical laboratory experience Previous hospital clinical laboratory experience
