Responsibilities

• Utilizes a significant amount of independent judgment to test patient samples using various chemical, microscopic, serological, and bacteriologic techniques.
• Assists management in maintaining appropriate policies, procedures, and equipment as needed.
• Conducts orientation and training for new personnel and monitors the performance of relevant personnel within the designated area.
• Operates and maintains automated equipment and ensures an adequate supply of departmental supplies.
• Performs quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement indicators regularly within the department.
• Maintains work areas in an orderly fashion.

Requirements

• Recent clinical laboratory experience.
• A Clinical Lab Scientist certification from CA.

Preferred

• A bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
