About the Role

Performs all laboratory testing and related duties within the assigned sections and provides accurate and timely results. Adheres to the assigned department’s standard operating procedure, quality assurance policy, regulatory compliance, and hospital policies. Provides guidance and oversight for department laboratory assistants, including conducting training and competency.

Requirements

• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (CLS) or National Medical Technologist license (MT, ASCP) or MTE-Microbiology

Qualifications

• Technical skills in laboratory science
• Working knowledge of quality control rules
• Precision with details and strong organizational skills
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Preferred: Eighteen (18) months previous CLS experience in an acute care hospital
