Key Responsibilities
- Receives and accesses patient samples into the Laboratory Information System.
- Ensures accurate and timely entry of codes and information.
- Maintains accurate patient identification and information for billing purposes.
- Processes and delivers specimens to specific laboratories as required.
- Saves or preserves specimens as needed in appropriate storage.
- Identifies and resolves specimen integrity issues.
- Performs add-on testing according to departmental procedures.
- Answers telephones and responds to customer inquiries and requests.
- Resolves customer complaints/issues and documents all information.
- Communicates test results and test descriptions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Reviews and acts on test pending list.
Work Experience
- Minimum of two years’ work experience as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant I (CLAI) or equivalent experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
