How you'll contribute
- Perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles.
- Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
- Transcribe physician orders
- Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens.
- Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.
- Process, label, and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis.
- Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Perform Med-Competence testing.
- Enter waived testing results into the LIS utilizing the manual entry mode.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Perform light cleaning of work area
- Perform specialized collection as requested.
- Occasionally deliver or pick up specimens outside of the laboratory.

What we're looking for
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
- Experience: 3 Years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical, hospital or lab setting.
- Prefer prior waived testing experience.
- Certifications: State MA-P (Medical Assistant Phlebotomist) or MA-C (Medical Assistant Certified)
