Clinical Lab Technologist Lab Services MHB

Responsibilities

• Perform tests on body fluids to support patient diagnosis and treatment
• Ensure proper handling of specimens for subsequent analysis
• Organize work to prioritize testing efficiently
• Operate under guiding behaviors, standards, and Core Values
• May perform Charge Technologist duties if six (6) years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist are met
• Assume operational functions including patient and QC review, log sheet review, emergency scheduling, communication to hospital officials, leadership of laboratory operations, instrument service deployment authorization, safety oversight, and other duties requiring leadership action

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required
• Valid NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist limited permit or full license from the NYS Office of Professions required before starting
• Completion of a clinical rotation from an accredited school in a hospital setting
• Experience in clinical laboratory work, especially if acting as a Charge Technologist as required by NYS
