About the role
Responsible for performing clinical laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions. Works under the supervision of a licensed medical technologist.
Responsibilities
- Prepares specimens for testing
- Operates and maintains laboratory equipment
- Documents results accurately and promptly
- Follows safety protocols to prevent contamination and injury
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized laboratory technician program
- Current certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT)
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
