Pay

Expected pay for this position is $29.30 - $34.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

About the Role

The Clinical Laboratory Technician II performs a variety of laboratory testing to aid in the diagnosis of disease, which may include specimen collection, training personnel, and students. Duties include performing quality control, preventive maintenance on equipment, and minor troubleshooting, with referral of complex issues to senior employees. Independent judgment and professional education and certification are required. Additional responsibilities are delegated by the Laboratory Manager and/or Lab Supervisor based on the needs of the Laboratory Department.

Requirements

  • Education: An associate’s degree as a Clinical Laboratory Technician. Successful completion of the ASCP or AMT Board of Certification CLT exam or obtained within the first year of employment. Alternative associate degrees are acceptable with successful completion of ASCP or AMT CLT certification exam prior to employment.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of CLT experience.
  • License/Certifications: CLT(ASCP) or (AMT).

Skills

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with strong organizational, judgment, and technical skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians and other clinical personnel when responding to routine inquiries and reporting laboratory results.
  • Analytical skills to interpret routine tests, recognize abnormal test results, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • High level of professionalism and skillful performance in stressful situations.
