About the role
Labcorp is seeking an entry-level Technician to join our team in Calabasas, CA. This position operates under the technical oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist and involves specimen testing, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in specimen testing according to established procedures.
- Record dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards; ensure materials are not expired prior to use.
- Perform pipetting using pre-set, calibrated, and approved automatic devices or fixed-volume dispensers.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, document maintenance appropriately, and escalate complex instrument repairs.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory bodies.
- Document all activities, including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop an increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- High level of attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or prior Labcorp experience.
- 1 year or more of lab experience.
Pay
$24.00–$30.00 per hour plus shift differential. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.
Schedule
Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.
