About the role
The Clinical Microbiology Lab is seeking an experienced Clinical Lab Technician to support all laboratory operations. This role involves processing patient samples, performing pre-analytical steps, and executing standard laboratory procedures under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Process patient samples for analysis and culture, including reviewing request appropriateness, accessioning, aliquotting, centrifugation, and shipping preparation for reference laboratory specimens.
- Perform pre-analytical steps such as initial set-up and plating of microbiology specimens and stain preparation.
- Execute standard laboratory procedures requiring limited independent judgment and interpretation.
- Work under the direct supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist, laboratory supervisor, or manager.
Requirements
- Associate degree (or higher) from a NYSED-registered clinical laboratory technician program (or equivalent).
- New York State Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting strongly preferred.

Schedule
Day shift: 8 AM–4 PM with rotating weekends and holidays.
Pay
$39.13 – $60.67 per hour (non-exempt, FLSA status).
