Clinical Lab Scientist - WCMC Clinical Laboratory Services - Per Diem - 8 Hour - Variable Shift
About the Role
Performs and demonstrates competency, proficiency, and understanding of test procedures in the Clinical Laboratory, including high complexity testing.
Education
Bachelor of Science in one of the following fields is required:
- Biology
- Biochemistry or Chemistry
- Medical Laboratory Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science
- Microbiology
If no B.S. Degree in the above areas, must have a Bachelor's Degree with the following completed course requirements:
- 16 semester or equivalent quarter units of chemistry (must include clinical chemistry or analytical and biochemistry)
- 18 semester or equivalent quarter units of biology (must include hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology)
- 3 semester or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity)
Certifications/Licensures
One of the following is required:
- Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) - California Department of Public Health - Laboratory Field Service
- Clinical Microbiologist Scientist - California Department of Public Health - Laboratory Field Service
Schedule
For training, full-time day availability is required. After training, per diem availability must include PM, Nights, and Weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Days and shifts worked will vary based on business needs.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Pay
Pay Range: $65.04 - $87.78 hourly. Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
