Clinical Lab Scientist Trainee Intern

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. CLS and Laboratory Supervisors, the Clinical Lab Scientist Trainee observes, trains, and performs a variety of laboratory tests/processes in all assigned areas within the laboratory. Additionally, the CLS trainee intern operates and maintains equipment, performs and evaluates quality control, discusses and reviews patient’s results without sending patient results.

Responsibilities

• Schedule CLS exam for state licensure within four weeks of hire;
• Obtain CLS licensure within three months of hire;
• Work well within a team environment;
• Speak, read, and write fluently and professionally in English as well as follow verbal instructions with minimal supervision;
• Work flexible shifts;
• Show strong organizational skills;
• Show critical thinking skills;
• Show problem-solving skills;
• Show basic computer skills;
• Schedule CLS exam for state licensure within four weeks of hire;
• Obtain CLS licensure within three months of hire.

Requirements

This position requires incumbents to schedule CLS exam for state licensure within four weeks of hire; and obtain CLS licensure within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in science related field;
• Completion of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Program;
• Completion of 52 weeks training completed in a CDPH approved CLS training program.
