About the role
The Translational Research in Pain (TRiP) Program is a clinical and basic research program focused on improving pain control in veterinary species and humans. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Duncan Lascelles, a translational pain researcher, veterinarian, and Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Aid in study publicity and recruitment
- Review patient records for study eligibility
- Perform physical and specialized examinations
- Coordinate and collect samples as per study protocol
- Evaluate owner-compiled logs for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with clients and referring veterinarians regarding results
- Provide necessary data to principal investigators at required intervals
- Comply with Good Clinical Practice guidelines
- Assist with clinically relevant studies involving research animals
Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in clinical research and/or pain conditions
- Eligibility for North Carolina Veterinary License and/or faculty certificate under supervision
- Valid NC Driver's License
