Clinical Lab scientist - Microbiology

Job Responsibilities

Aid the supervisor in managing the lab's day-to-day operations.
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management.
Train new hires and develop current employees.
Inform the supervisor of group progress, issues, employee performance, and significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities.
Verify the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Carry out routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

• Demonstrate proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Show strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Display high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Show comfortability making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to handle the physical demands of the position.
• Pass a standardized color vision screen.

Qualifications

• Obtain a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Hold a CA CLS license - Generalist.
• Have at least 2 years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist in Microbiology.
• Have 5+ years of experience as a CLS, or current/prior Labcorp experience preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Comprehensive benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for these benefits. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
