Clinical Lab Instructor - Nursing Faculty

Orbis Education partners with colleges and universities to expand pre-licensure healthcare programs, producing high-quality graduates ready to enter the workforce. This role supports the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Concordia University St. Paul’s Portland campuses, where students complete online theory instruction, lab skills, and clinical rotations in the Greater Portland area.

About the Role

As a full-time Clinical Instructor, you will oversee students during their clinical rotations at partner sites in the Greater Portland area. The primary responsibility is implementing the academic program and facilitating effective student learning in both clinical and online environments.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective student learning in the clinical setting and via the online learning environment
• Partner with Clinical Lead Faculty to ensure course alignment in the clinical setting
• Provide guidance for students in the clinical/lab setting related to professionalism, practice, and research
• Collaborate with healthcare partners, their staff, and support clinical adjunct faculty as needed
• Maintain and teach current nursing knowledge, including curriculum, policies, and requirements
• Maintain clinical competence and expertise in assigned areas
• Perform grading, skills check-offs, lab support, and hold student office hours

Requirements

• OR RN licensure (required); WA RN licensure (a plus)
• MSN (preferred) or BSN with 12 credits of an MSN earned and commitment to enroll in an MSN program upon hire
• Two years of successful professional nursing practice with an MSN, or five years with a BSN
• Two years of teaching/precepting experience (preferred)
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students, clinical affiliates, and adjunct faculty
• Ability to provide a supportive learning environment for students

Clinical Areas

Adult Health (Behavioral Health experience is a plus).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for clinical rotations.
