Responsibilities

• Collect and label blood from patients and donors accurately for tests.
• Accurately collect and record patient and donor information.
• Maintain and monitor patients through procedures.
• Store samples as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate effectively with all hospital personnel and the public.
• Willingness to learn and demonstrate good communication skills.
• Knowledge of patient care ranging from neonate and infant birth up to one year, childhood and adolescence, adult, and geriatric care.

Description

Responsible for collecting blood from patients and donors, identifying and labeling all drawn blood accurately for tests, and/or blood donations. Also responsible for accurately collecting and recording patient and donor information, monitoring patients through procedures, and storing samples as required. This position requires knowledge in the care of patients served as indicated: Neonate and infant birth up to one year, Childhood and Adolescence is one year to 17 years, Adult is 18 to 65 years and Geriatric is 65 years and above.
