Clinical Lab Assistant PRN (MUSC/Florence Medical Center)

About the Role

Performs a variety of tasks related to the pre-analytical processing of biological specimens for testing performed in the clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include data entry of client demographic information, processing test orders and order review, reconciling specimen/order problems, assisting with facilitating send-out testing, ensuring proper patient registration, paper requisition filing, supply management support, answering phones, ensuring proper labeling of samples, sample distribution, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare setting experience; or certified as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant; or certified as a phlebotomist; or student enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science program in a science-related major; or a Bachelor of Science degree; or enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technician program (preferred).
• Certification as a Clinical Lab Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Phlebotomist or one year of work experience in a healthcare setting required.
