Clinical Lab Assistant - Part-Time - Evenings

About the Role

The Lab Assistant provides accessioning and processing services, utilizes appropriate equipment, receives, accesses, and processes pathology and laboratory specimens, and delivers laboratory information and reports to customers. Assists in training and monitoring co-workers, students, and other hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, and process pathology and laboratory specimens.
• Operate laboratory equipment as required.
• Provide laboratory information and reports to customers.
• Assist in training and monitoring co-workers, students, and other hospital staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient and workplace safety.
• Apply age-specific knowledge to meet patient care needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of related laboratory accessioning experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service techniques.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Proficiency in using computers and personal productivity applications.
• Typing ability.

Pay

Pay range: $17.30 - $25.11 per hour. Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with organizational needs.
