Clinical Instructors: Nursing (RN) - Part-time

About the role

Virginia Western Community College is seeking part-time Clinical Instructors for their Registered Nursing Program in the School of Health Professions. Positions are available for Long Term Care, Pediatric, Mother-baby, and Medical/Surgical Clinical Instructors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain currency in nursing practice, teaching disciplines, and trends in nursing education.
• Assignments are made on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed.
• May assist the agency or state government in emergencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an Associate’s degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN) with a strong clinical background.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing is strongly preferred.
• Prior teaching experience in a pre-licensure RN program is desired.
• Mother-baby, Medical/Surgical, and/or Pediatric clinical experience is strongly preferred, but other areas considered.

9-12 hours either Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
