About the Role

This full-time, on-site Clinical Informatics Specialist role is based at RWJ Hamilton in Hamilton, NJ. The specialist supports the optimization, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of clinical information systems, with a focus on electronic health records (EHR) and related applications. The role involves collaborating with clinical and IT teams to improve usability, clinical decision support, and overall efficiency in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Analyze clinical workflows and configure systems to optimize electronic health records (EHR) and related applications.
• Develop documentation and training materials for end-users.
• Assist in go-live support and system upgrades.
• Monitor data quality and troubleshoot informatics issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Contribute to projects that enhance clinical decision support and system efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, information systems, nursing, or a related healthcare or IT field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPHI, CPHIMS) are preferred.
• Strong foundation in health informatics and the ability to bridge clinical practice and technology.
• Proficiency in information technology concepts, including healthcare applications and system configuration.
• Hands-on experience with electronic health records (EHR), including workflow analysis, optimization, and end-user support.
• Robust analytical skills for interpreting clinical data, evaluating system performance, and recommending improvements.
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and frontline clinicians.
• Effective communication, training, and presentation skills, with the ability to support diverse user groups.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to evolving organizational and regulatory requirements.
