CLINICAL INFORMATICS SPECIALIST

About the Role

Horizon Health, a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility with 25 inpatient beds in Paris, IL, and multiple outpatient clinics, seeks an RN Clinical Informatics Specialist to support our electronic health record (EHR) system. Responsibilities

• Provide EHR support to physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers.
• Assist in evaluating, implementing, and maintaining the EHR system.
• Troubleshoot system issues and champion clinical workflow redesign.
• Support training for providers and staff, considering adult learning styles.
• Ensure education on product enhancements and future releases.
• Promote compliance with Meaningful Use and interoperability regulations.
• Develop and maintain clinical order sets and electronic forms.
• Communicate with software vendors to meet customer needs.
• Manage projects, organize resources, and achieve facility goals.
• Seek user feedback to improve EHR utilization.
• Participate in application development and testing.
• Assist in creating EHR-related policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of direct patient care experience using an EHR.
• Flexibility to ensure support availability for end users.
• Proficiency in clinical software development and troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Nursing or related informatics field (preferred).
• Previous experience with EHR software, specifically Athena (preferred).
• Experience in a clinical informatics role (preferred).
• Knowledge of quality regulations, particularly promoting interoperability (preferred).
• Experience with HTML, Excel (spreadsheets/pivot tables/data analysis), Adobe, and PNG documents (preferred).

Pay

Pay ranges from $26.688/hour to $42.740/hour for an RN, based on applicable years of experience.
