About the Role

The Clinical Informatics Specialist, under the direction of the Informatics Manager, integrates clinical science with information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice. This role supports nurses, consumers, patients, the interprofessional healthcare team, and other stakeholders in the use of technology to enhance clinical care.

Key activities include collaborating with customers and IT team members to define problems, participating in the design, development, implementation, education, and evaluation of clinical technology, and advocating for issues while ensuring proper documentation and escalation. The specialist will work with other professionals to maintain mutual respect and shared values, communicating effectively to support a team-based approach to health promotion and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational support, with oversight, to the local team for customer support, education, clinical change implementation, and coordination with subject matter experts (SMEs) to plan, deliver, and evaluate technology and data-related changes.
• Rigorously documents problems, including audits, design sessions, planning, collaboration, and implementation activities (e.g., rounds and in-services).
• Ensures, with oversight, that all problems have discrete outcome metrics to maintain a scientific and rigorous approach.
• Maintains a culture of ethics, culturally congruent practice, and effective communication/collaboration within the team and with external partners, aligning with RWJBH standards.
• Maintains required professional development, competencies, and continuing education.
• Collaborates with local SMEs in Quality and Regulatory under leadership guidance to ensure awareness and competency regarding new regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Obtains and maintains Epic certification as required by department standards.

Requirements

• Active RN or clinical licensure in New Jersey.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other clinical licensure program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing or clinical field preferred.
• 3+ years of clinical experience with progressive leadership responsibilities preferred.
• Epic Clinical Informatics Accreditation and Nursing ANCC/HIMSS certifications preferred.

Pay

Annual salary range: $83,156.00 - $117,458.00. Compensation will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
