About the role

The Clinical Informaticist 1 supports vendor developed applications, managing their ongoing requirements and ensuring effective end-user support. They also participate in process optimization to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Responds timely to user concerns regarding issues and takes action to address needs; involves vendor when needed.
  • Tracks users’ concerns and looks for patterns in problems; utilizes support center software to log or follow up on each customer call, enter call status and document resolution.
  • Affords assistance with resolution of hardware related issues, including printing.
  • Fulfills operational processes to assure systems stability and availability.
  • Tests any changes to system in test environment and works collaboratively with staff to ensure changes are moved to live environment in a coordinated manner, utilizing defined change management process.
  • Ensures appropriate application downtime procedures are communicated.
  • Creates and maintains documentation related to application functionality, application support, application testing, application downtime process, and application restore.
  • Affords assistance in developing end-user education.
  • Pays special attention to workflow when assisting with end-user optimization.
  • Develops and implements application changes based on user recommendations and leadership approval.
  • Ensures changes needed to meet regulatory requirements, safety and financial requirements are appropriately prioritized.
  • Tracks users concerns and looks for patterns in problems. Utilizes support center software to log or follow up on each customer call, enter call status and document resolution.
  • Demonstrates problem diagnosis skills.
  • Provides on-call support for the application as required and with a backup, ensuring 24x7 support.
  • Sets out to understand end user processes/workflow in individual departments via rounds.
  • Provides assistance to any staff member where priorities have been assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Applies appropriate customer service concepts to daily activities such as communicating service levels, providing necessary status reports, maintaining high customer satisfaction levels, maintaining an awareness of industry trends/changes, and creating solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and ongoing operation and optimization of clinical decision-making systems and processes and information systems that support effective, efficient, safe, timely, equitable and patient-centered care.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects and other projects pertaining to organizational goals and strategies and regulatory requirements.
  • Possesses cognitive skills to provide creativity, problem solving, strategic thinking, pragmatism, and learning ability to everyday activities.

Qualifications

  • 2 years Experience in the clinical or business area that this role supports.
  • Required Licenses and Certifications: Support for some vendor applications requires formal certification. For positions that primarily support Epic applications, vendor certification is required within 4 months of the last date of training for a given certification track; if certification is not achieved within this timeframe employee will voluntarily resign from this position.
