About the role

Full or part-time positions available in Metro Boston (Westwood, Dedham, Jamaica Plain). The Healthcare Professional (CRT, RRT, LPN, RN, or Respiratory Therapist) provides clinical insight, education, and instruction to patients on the safe and appropriate use of home respiratory and other equipment. This role supports the continuum of care for patients and maintains compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, and caregivers on diagnosis, personal care, symptom recognition, equipment uses and care, and other relevant information via phone, telehealth visits, and in-person at home or hospital as needed.
• Completes daily follow-up tasks with patients, including PAP and NIV follow-ups and phone calls to patients, family, or caregivers.
• Performs PAP and NIV setups and home visits as needed; participates in on-call rotations.
• Supports the continuum of care by creating and/or overseeing care plans, communicating with physicians or other clinicians, and identifying and resolving patient care issues.
• May work alongside physicians in in-office clinics.
• Maintains current knowledge of DASCO equipment and services; may assist with quality control, equipment maintenance, and general support of daily Clinical Outcomes Team operations.
• Maintains understanding of insurance benefits, coverage, and patient costs to explain to patients and/or caregivers.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, State Respiratory Care Board, State Pharmacy Board, and all other applicable rules and regulations.
• Maintains current professional licensure or certification requirements, including CEU compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Professional licensure or certification such as Certified, Registered, or Licensed Respiratory Therapist, LPN, or RN (CRT, RRT, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse).
• Six months’ experience in a clinical services role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• Six months’ experience in healthcare, medical, insurance, or DME customer service.

Schedule

This is a split position, working some of the time in patient homes and some of the time at the branch office.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in a professional office setting, clinical settings, and patient home residences. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines is required.

Physical Demands

The employee is typically required to sit, frequently stand, and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This role requires frequent handling of equipment, gauges, meters, and some physical contact with patients during training or clinical follow-ups.

Travel

Some travel is required, with occasional overnight travel for continuing education or meetings at the corporate office.
