Clinical Health Psychologist NE - Casual - La Jolla

About the Role

This is a casual position located on the campus of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The position is partial remote and will require 8-12 hours per week. Housed within Scripps Health, Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute (SWDI) is Southern California's leading diabetes center of excellence, committed to providing the best evidence-based diabetes screening, education and patient care across Scripps Hospitals and clinics, and in the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with endocrinologists, diabetes educators, and other members of the clinical care team to triage and deliver psychological and behavioral interventions to patients with chronic health conditions.
• Triage electronic health record referrals and warm hand-offs, conducts comprehensive intake assessments, and delivers a wide range of psychological interventions commensurate to patient need.
• Conduct evidence-based individual- and group-based psychotherapy to improve outcomes for individuals who are struggling with psychological and/or behavioral aspects of chronic disease.
• Provide professional case consultation and training to the interdisciplinary care team members on behavioral health conditions, assessment, and brief interventions.

Required Qualifications

• PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology.
• 5 years' experience conducting psychological assessments and evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy - at least 2 of these years' experience must be in a medical setting.
• Licensed clinical psychologist in the state of CA.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years' experience providing psychological treatment to patients with chronic health conditions.
• 2 years' experience collaborating with medical providers in treatment planning.
• Training in evidence-based interventions (cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and/or motivational interviewing (MI)).

Pay

$56.96-$82.59/hour
