Clinical Genomics Scientist II (100% Remote)

About the role

This is a 100% remote Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. The Clinical Genomic Scientist II is responsible for interpreting diagnostic test results, reviewing medical literature and clinical information, classifying variants, generating reports per SOPs, and contributing to guideline development and training.

Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic test results
• Review and summarize relevant medical literature
• Review and summarize clinical information
• Apply variant classification guidelines
• Follow report generation protocols to meet quality and turnaround time requirements
• Utilize understanding of genomic technologies
• Assist with technical troubleshooting as needed
• Provide input in the development of guidelines
• Assist with training of new Clinical Genomic Scientists
• Attend trainings for reporting protocols applicable to the position/specialty
• Become knowledgeable in required information technology systems
• Work toward expertise in clinical and technical aspects of the position
• Interpret clinical diagnostic testing results per established SOPs
• Perform variant assessment and classification
• Independently draft clear, accurate clinical testing result reports

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related scientific field
• OR MS in Genetic Counseling from an accredited institution
• OR MS
