Duties and Responsibilities
- Review test requisition forms and clinical notes;
- Perform case analysis using the Emedgene platform;
- Select variants relevant to the proband’s phenotype;
- Request confirmatory testing when necessary;
- Communicate findings at cross-team huddles.
Qualifications
- For all ranks: Degree in Genetic Counseling, MD, or PhD in clinical medicine, genetics, molecular biology, or equivalent;
- Experience with whole exome or whole genome case review is preferred for ranks Clinical Genomic Scientist - WGS review II, Clinical Genomic Scientist - WGS review III, Clinical Genomic Scientist - WGS review - Senior, and Clinical Genomic Scientist - WGS review - Professional;
- Demonstrated expertise in gene-disease correlation, case analysis, and variant selection;
- Experience in communicating genetic details effectively;
- Experience in quality assurance, analytical problem-solving, technical skills, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, teamwork, organizational support, safety and security, dependability, innovation, and adaptability.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent sitting required;
- Occasional weekend rotation may be needed (for example, once a month);
- Home office setting.
