Job Overview
The Clinical Finance Analyst will serve as the primary finance partner to Clinical Development teams. This role is responsible for managing clinical trial budgets, forecasts, accruals, financial reporting, and vendor oversight while ensuring accurate financial tracking of ongoing and planned clinical studies.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, and CROs to monitor ongoing and planned clinical studies.
- Develop and maintain clinical trial budgets, forecasts, and accruals.
- Track study spending against approved budgets and investigate significant variances.
- Review CRO, investigator, and clinical vendor invoices against contracts, milestones, and study progress.
- Monitor enrollment trends and study milestones to support forecasting and accrual calculations.
- Prepare monthly clinical spend reports and provide insights to management.
- Maintain oversight of clinical contracts, work orders, amendments, and vendor agreements.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or clinical finance.
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or CRO industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
