Clinical Fellow Urology

This position is within the USF Department of Urology.

About the role

The Clinical Fellow will focus on developing clinical expertise in the management of patients suffering from all forms of sexual dysfunction, including erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, infertility, Peyronie's Disease, and related conditions. The role involves teaching residents in rotation, directing research projects and publications, contributing to the medical literature, writing abstracts, and presenting at pertinent society meetings. The Clinical Fellow will attend clinic with Dr. Rafael Carrion and perform surgery both with Dr. Carrion and independently.

Responsibilities include clinical activities relating to the advanced fellowship training program, conducting research in specialized areas of healthcare, and writing reports on research objectives and results. The Fellow may also participate in teaching activities and provide services under a Professional Services Agreement that distinguishes services from those within the advanced training program.

Responsibilities

• Teach residents in rotation and foster their research interests.
• Direct research projects and publications, including writing abstracts and presenting at society meetings.
• Attend clinic with Dr. Rafael Carrion and perform surgery both collaboratively and independently.
• Develop clinical expertise in managing sexual dysfunction (e.g., erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, infertility, Peyronie's Disease).
• Conduct research in specialized healthcare areas and report on objectives and results.
• Participate in teaching activities as needed.
• Provide services under a Professional Services Agreement, separate from advanced training program duties.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved professional degree program in the appropriate health discipline (M.D. or D.O.).
• Completion of residency training in Urology, including research and/or clinical training in specialized areas.
• Licensed or eligible for a full Florida medical license in primary specialty and qualified to function as an attending physician.
• Advanced fellowship training typically follows clinical training in preparation for an academic position or subspecialty certification.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Clinical Fellow.

Due to the requirements of this class code, holders of J-1 visa are not eligible for an appointment using this code.
