About the Role
This position involves supervising exercise and pharmacologic stress testing in clinical labs, assessing cardiovascular and metabolic responses of patients, and determining appropriate test procedures and termination points. You will implement and oversee outpatient cardiac rehabilitation programs, including patient scheduling, developing individualized exercise plans, and supervising exercise sessions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise exercise and pharmacologic stress tests.
- Develop and oversee individualized patient exercise programs based on test results.
- Monitor patient responses during testing and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Perform patient education and coordinate with medical staff regarding test suitability and abnormal findings.
- Supervise staff, trainees, and students during stress tests, ensuring adherence to lab guidelines.
- Initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
- Provide preliminary reports on test results and assist in enrolling patients into cardiac rehab.
- Conduct educational sessions on exercise testing and cardiac rehab for staff and medical professionals.
Requirements
- Master's Degree required; preference for a degree in Exercise Science.
- Experience in stress testing, cardiac rehabilitation, and patient supervision.
- Strong knowledge of exercise protocols, patient monitoring, and emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and coordination skills.
- Ability to assess patient suitability and interpret test data accurately.
Work is performed in a clinical environment, complying with all relevant policies and procedures.
