Position Objective
Safely and timely transfers patients within the hospital while providing compassionate, professional customer service. Supports patient throughput through efficient, responsive service.
Essential Job Duties
- Transports patients in accordance with established safety policies and collaborates with care team members.
- Aids in the transfer of patients when needed.
- Timely responds to assignments and cancels requests appropriately to support patient throughput.
- Communicates effectively with care team members regarding patient arrivals/departures, necessary precautions, and transport of medications/equipment.
- Affords assistance to colleagues within the department or other units to safely transport patients and/or equipment.
- Prioritizes transport requests during high volume times and collaborates with department colleagues on process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrates competency in safe equipment use, electronic assignment systems, and necessary computer functions for administrative duties.
Education/Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification through the American Heart Association preferred.
Physical Demands
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Pay Range
$17.50—$19 USD
