Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Engineer Tech I for their Clinical Engineering Team. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, first shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, timely, and cost-effective service of clinical equipment used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Evaluate equipment problems to engage appropriate staff to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Develop and implement equipment testing procedures.
  • Test new devices and equipment.
  • Document service events in the C.E. database and maintain service manuals in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to address non-routine and routine technical problems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards for clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment to promote a safe and functional patient care environment.
  • Work with independent contractors in the installation of new clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment to ensure technically controlled projects.
  • Instruct clinical staff on the safety, proper operation, and maintenance of patient care instruments as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for Clinical Engineering Department.
  • Respond to after-hours calls related to all clinical equipment supported.
  • Understand and comply with all organizational policies and procedures and operational standards to support a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Enrolled in an accredited program to earn an associate degree in biomedical engineering technology and complete degree with 24 months of hire date
  • Other degrees in related fields
  • Specialized knowledge in electronic troubleshooting techniques
  • Computer skills
