Job Summary
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Engineer Tech I for their Clinical Engineering Team. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, first shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality, timely, and cost-effective service of clinical equipment used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Evaluate equipment problems to engage appropriate staff to resolve mechanical issues.
- Develop and implement equipment testing procedures.
- Test new devices and equipment.
- Document service events in the C.E. database and maintain service manuals in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
- Collaborate with medical staff to address non-routine and routine technical problems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards for clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment to promote a safe and functional patient care environment.
- Work with independent contractors in the installation of new clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment to ensure technically controlled projects.
- Instruct clinical staff on the safety, proper operation, and maintenance of patient care instruments as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation for Clinical Engineering Department.
- Respond to after-hours calls related to all clinical equipment supported.
- Understand and comply with all organizational policies and procedures and operational standards to support a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Enrolled in an accredited program to earn an associate degree in biomedical engineering technology and complete degree with 24 months of hire date
- Other degrees in related fields
- Specialized knowledge in electronic troubleshooting techniques
- Computer skills
